Family Assistant Package

3) Continuation of Salary: The deceased employee’s salary, along with any increments and allowances, is paid to the family until the date the employee would have reached retirement.

Other Benefits:
This may include gratuity, group insurance benefits, and special lump sum grants from the Benevolent Fund.

• The package is typically applicable to the families of government employees who die while in service.
• The definition of “family” may include a spouse, children, and dependent parents.
• Divorced daughters may also be eligible for a share of the deceased father’s pension until they remarry, as per some court rulings.

Supreme Court Ruling:
The Supreme Court of Pakistan has declared that appointments of next-of-kin of deceased civil servants without open advertisement are unconstitutional, emphasizing the need for open competition and advertisement for such appointments.

Government of Punjab issued clarification of Life Certificate / No Marriage Certificate for Financial Assistance to the Family of decessed Govt. Employee. As per clarification the Life certificate / No marriage Certificate is required bi-annunally as per previous routine.
